Hartwood Reverse Ride

.

Start: 9:00am, 24 April 2016

Distance(s): 42 and 33

The Hartwood Reverse is a crowd pleaser, especially for riders who enjoy steady pace line riding. The unique thing about this ride is that groups of the different fitness/speed level all finish near the same time. Two moderate hill climbs on the 42 mile route challenge the riders before the run in to the finish while the 33 mile route has one short climb.

The ride usually breaks down into several groups of different speeds. The rest stop on all routes is a store where refreshments may be bought. There are 10+ STRAVA segments on these rides if that interests you.

Be sure to download the new Cue Sheets <Ride Sheets> so you are self sufficient on the course. We ride out of the Hartwood Elementary School which is on the corner of Hartwood Road (Route 612) and Shackleford Well. All the routes leave the school taking us out the southern part of Stafford to the quiet roads of Fauquier county. There are porta toilets near the start.

To get to the school take I-95 to Route 17 North towards Warrenton, Exit 133B. Go approximately 7 miles and make a right on Route 612. This right is at the light at the Hartwood post office and before the Hartwood Volunteer Fire Department. Travel about .2 mile and the school is on your right. There is a small parking lot by the play ground where we meet.
