Tanya's Trek Remington Ride

  • 14 Oct 2018
  • 10:00 AM
  • Town Hall, 105 East Main Street, Remington Va

This is a non-club ride. Officially it is a Trek Women's Cycling Advocacy Program ride led by Trek Women's Cycling Advocate Tanya Conover.  This event targets new/beginning, intermediate, and advanced women riders with no-drop leaders for each route, but is open to all club members to ride at your own pace.  The start point is City Hall in Remington.  The building will be open for rest room access and Trek will provide some pre-ride breakfast snacks.  Parking is along the streets, in the community parking lot, and in the Town Hall lot.  Please sign a Trek ride waiver so Tanya will get credit for all cyclists in attendance.

We have a range of available routes to include marked 12, 17, 23 and 28 mile routes which follow Remington's history trail throughout the area.   A reference map will be available so you can see some of the historical landmarks while riding in this area.

For those want to go farther, we will have 42 and (63) mile routes.  These routes, however, will not be marked.  Cue sheets will be available.

12 miles- Blue double arrows  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28684607

23 miles- Yellow Double arrows   https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28684617

28 miles-  Red double arrows   https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28684620

42 miles-  No marks  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28572164

63 miles-  No marks  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28756361

All women riders are especially welcome to participate in this event, but all FCC members are also invited.  For those of you who have not ridden these roads - especially in the areas west of Route 29, you are in for a treat.

Another fun treat will be a chance to try out Trek E-bikes.  It's a blast to see what E-bikes can do.

After the ride, everyone is invited to meet  up for après-cycling social connections at nearby Rogers Ford Farm Winery 14674 Rogers Ford Rd, Sumerduck, VA.  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy their delicious Virginia wines in a cozy family owned / farmhouse winery; serving great wines at good prices.  The social time expense is not covered by Trek.
