Route Marking Fiesta

Description:  It is time to get the route markings updated.  We will be remarking the YMCA and Hopewell routes following up with marking the Willowmere and Mary Walter routes during a separate painting session.  The goal is to split the routes across multiple teams to speed up the work.  We will break into two-person teams for safety and support.  Paint and stencils will be providing at start time.

Details:

Our first effort (Day 1) will be on 24 April and will focus on the Hopewell and YMCA routes.  We will meet at 0800 at the Hopewell Church to hand out the paints, go over final arrangements and answer questions. From there, we will set out to work on the primary routes before tackling other popular routes in following weeks.  

The general approach is broken down below:

• We will break into two person teams for safety.
• Teams can either drive or ride the assigned routes.
• We will focus on the Primary Routes during April and will work through the remaining routes over the spring.  The Cannonball Century routes will be marked in the fall.
• We will plan for one team per route per day.
• We will use the same route markings already used for each route.  See Route Markings Chart below 
• For those routes that do not have markings, use the Dan Henry markings

Our second effort (Day 2) will be scheduled for May and will focus on Willowmere and Mary Walter routes.  More details to be provided on this effort.
