Location: Court Square, Montross, VA.
Start time: 7:00am
Description: We will depart from the heart of Montross at Court Square on Kings Hwy, just to the left of Angelo’s Pizza Restaurant. There is plenty of parking and public restrooms. We will be riding the metric century (route below).
The route passes through historic Kinsale on the Yeocomico River, as well as four different wineries, the Potomac and the Rappahannock. We will stop for a convenience store and restroom break at the 30-mile mark. We will cross Route 3 at mile 41 and ride on to Naylors Beach on the Rappahannock. At the end of the ride, the group usually hits The Art of Coffee for lunch.
Please note: It will be warm on Sunday. Please bring plenty of fluids. I am trying to arrange SAG between miles 45 and 50.
UPDATE: Due to the heat, we will start at 7 AM. Also, I will stage some ice water (I am raising the ride leader bar!) and snacks at mile 45. If you're planning to attend please text me or hit the registration button so I have enough water staged.
Finally, I am posting a second route if anyone wants to join us for a shorter ride or wants to drop a little early due to the heat. This is a 46 mile route that follows the Metric route for the first 39 miles before turning off and heading back to Montross. It still hits all the sites except for Naylors Beach.
